My name is Lauren. I'm a writer who lives and works in Edmonton, Canada. My work is trans-genre, including creative nonfiction, memoir, and cultural criticism, exploring intergenerational trauma, ancestry, motherhood, and living as an art form.
I'm an MFA candidate at the University of King's College in Halifax and co-editor of Edmonton Scene. My writing has appeared in Alberta Views, Existere Magazine, Queens Quarterly, Xtra Magazine, and other Canadian publications. I contribute regularly to Edify Edmonton, The Tomato, and Culinaire Magazine, covering arts, culture, and food.
Currently, I'm working on a family memoir, The Matriarchs, which traces silences and survival across generations, and a poetry collection, From Maiden to Mother: A Millennial Comes of Age. As a mother of four, I write about the complexities we're often told to simplify—the both/and rather than the either/or.
